April 20th 2010 - There is a press conference for Ong Bak 3 at House RCA, Bangkok. Tony JAA and Panna Rittikrai are surounded by news reporters at the conference. Roughly, the news says that Tony is not worried by the political crisis in Thailand that is likely to affect the profit of his movie.
This is a little part of history where the Guest Star Dan Chupong tell us about his make up. "It takes 6-7 hours for the make-up. I had to wake up since 3 A.M. to wear it. They painted almost every single part of my body's skin with tattoo designs. Moreover, the dress that I wore was either an obstacle to the action. However, not only I but also Tony JAA, Jajaa Primrata, and Niruj Sirijanya were in the same condition."
From the official production company Sahamongkol Film, Ong Bak3 will come out on theater in Thailand, in May 5th 2010.
Other news about a special scene which will be interesting, for us, girls...
Jajaa, Primrata Detudom, said in an interview that there is a love scene between her and Tony JAA in Ong Bak 3 : “I was rather nervous acting in that scene because there were a lot of guys standing around watching us. Morever, Tony had never been in such a scene before.”
Tony JAA took part of the opening ceremony of Mueang Chang Games from Surin. He was there to light the Games flame. Sitting on the back of elephant, he was wearing a costume of God Indra who is the King of Devas in Hindu mythology.
Panom Yeerum, aka Tony JAA, has changed his first name already, from 'Panom' to 'Thatchakorn' (TH ทัชชกร. It is reported that his name was changed since when he stayed in Surin to participate in the ceremony for Ong Bak 3 (February 2009).
Tony JAA new's name is : THATCHAKORN YEERUM
Thep has kindly explain the meaning of all Tony's names. Thanks dear Thep for these sweet information :
"I'm wondering about the meaning of the name 'Thatchakorn' either.
This is because in Thai language it seems that there is no meaning for the word Thatcha- when writing in Thai with ทัชช.
If written in Thai as ทัชช using the alphabet ท (as the news said), then it has no meaning.
But if written in Thai as ธัชกร using the alphabet ธ (and still pronounced the same Thatchakorn), then it has meaning as 'Flag'.
And for the 'Korn', in Thai it means 'Hand'. (But 'Korn' is used only in poetry, Thai common word for hand is 'Mue' มือ.)
Therefore, I think that if the news was wrong in choosing the alphabet for writing his new name, and in reality it should be written as ธัชกร, then Tony's new name means "Flag's Holder".
According to Thaifilmjournal.blogspot.com, His new name means "The Great Inventor".
By the way, my friends, do you know that his old name 'Panom' has meaning, it means 'mountain'.
Moreover, do you know that before Tony Jaa is called 'Panom', his older first name is 'Worawit'.
* Before Ong Bak 1 - Worawit Yeerum
* From Ong Bak 1 period to January 2009 - Panom Yeerum
* February 2009 until now - Thatchakorn Yeerum

Tony JAA Interview - traduction
What is about the proceeding of Ong Bak 3 ? TJ : Ong Bak 3 will double or triple the action when comparing with Ong Bak 2. About the budget for this project, it depends on Sia Jieang. But I think he is a real sport man to finance this large-scaled movie. However, I won’t get myself into money management like I used to do because I already learn a lesson. I have to do new things for myself such as changing haircut and my first name.
What is your new first name, and why you change it ? TJ: It is ‘Thatchakorn Yeerum’. I change it because I believe in better fortune. The meaning of this new name is ‘the great inventor endowed with generosity and faith’. I select this name from a list of names because I feel best with it. I feel that it suits a new characteristic of my character in Ong Bak 3 that is to turn from the dark side into the white side.
And what about your old name ‘Panom Yeerum’ which is more well-known to every one ? TJ: I keep this name as my actor name. I will still be Jaa Panom to my fans around the world, to my parents and to elephants as well.

After that, Tony JAA expressed his gratitude to MCOT and said something to the audience that was so impressive.
"I’d like to express my feeling about this award. I have a question in my mind about the meaning of it. I think the award means ‘stars that fill up the sky’. How many people who are willing to make an effort to reach for one of them ?. To reach for it we needs [1] Chanda (will, aspiration) [2] Viriya (effort) [3] Citta (thoughtfulness, to be true to what you do) and [4] Vimamsa (investigation, examination).*
Today, I would like to express my graitude to those who make a star from clod of earth; my father and mother, my master Panna Rittikrai, my director Prachya Pinkaew, the executive producer Somsak Techaratanaprasert. And I’d like to express my graitude to Nine Entertain for giving me a chance to say something today and to receive this award. To the mass media and all of the people who vote for me, thank you for your support and encouragement for me and other artists to do good things. Thank you so much." Tony JAA
Thep's note : The notions of ‘Chanda’ ‘Viriya’ ‘Citta’ ‘Vimamsa’ are four elements of Buddhist teaching “Idhipada” or ‘path of accomplishment, basis for success.
